Biological Sciences Department

Welcome!

A degree in biological sciences prepares graduates for challenging and rewarding careers in the life sciences. Students work together with faculty in conducting field and laboratory research using state-of-the-art instruments. Their findings are often published in leading scientific publications. Specialties within the department include bioinformatics, ichthyology, mammalogy, ornithology, pre-medical, and science education.

黑料不打烊 undergraduates have many opportunities to present their research at state, regional, and national levels in a variety of focus areas such as food and safety microbiology, animal behavior, environmental hazards, and habitat disturbance. Students can also benefit from on-campus involvement in honor society and organizations such as Biology Club, Pre-Medical Association, Beta Beta Beta National Biological Honor Society, Alpha Epsilon Delta National Health Preprofessional Honor Society.


B.S. in Biology

The Bachelor of Science in biology program is delivered by highly qualified and dedicated faculty in a modern facility with access to current instrumentation. Graduates are qualified to enter advanced programs at the master's or doctoral levels or have career opportunities in the laboratory, environmental, medical, dental, pharmaceutical, or veterinary fields. Biology Minor

This 20-hour program is designed for those who seek a basic understanding of biology. It provides a basis for advanced study.
